Connected Project

Poster, part of the poster series project Connected–Project – initiated by Hanneke Minten and Mariëlle van Genderen. I was second in line after the poster was given to Rob van Leijsen. For his poster, he made a typeface of the provided basic grid and set two lines of a conversation heard in the movie 'The French Connection'. My fusion-cartography is added as an additional layer.
I made maps of nine West-European cities (Amsterdam, Berlin, Copenhagen, Glasgow, Hamburg, Madrid, Stockholm, Toulouse and Zürich). Placing these maps on top of eachother, geographical distant locations emerge into a never-to-be fusion European city, opening new possibilities for infrastructural connections. How much fun would it be to visit a concert in both Stockholm's Kulturhuset and Glasgow's Royal Concert Hall on one day: you'll easily manage it by foot. There might even be some time left to visit the Bimhuis in Amsterdam. Just in case you enjoy a little jazz. After all, all three are on the same subway line...
